My sense of belonging (landscape)

My sense of belonging, Point Lonsdale Pier. A beautiful landscape that I would spend the next 8 weeks observing, contemplating and sketching.

There are two meanings for the word landscape; It can refer to the visible features of an area of land, or to an example of the genre of a painting that depicts an area of land. In both senses landscape includes physical elements of landforms such as mountains, trees and rivers. Living elements of land cover including vegetation and different forms of land use such as building structures and transitory elements such as lighting and weather conditions.

Combining both the physical origins and the cultural overlay of human presence landscapes reflect a living creation of people and a place with both local and national identity.
